The demolition of the long-vacant, previous Farmers Insurance building in Simi Valley, CA has finally started to prepare for The Enclave, a multi-use development with 164 residences for sale and a 6,000 square foot commercial building.

The 240,000-square-foot structure at 3039 E. Cochran St. in central Simi Valley, named a “major eyesore” by the developer, Newport Beach-based Broadview Holdings, is being gutted as we speak.

The Simi Valley City Council gave the green-light to the project in December 2019 with a 4-1 vote, stating the city of Simi Valley needs additional middle-income housing.

The developer purchased the 12.83 acre site in 2018 for $18.5 million. The six-story building has been vacant since 2013 by Farmers Insurance.
